I want to share some documentary storytelling podcast series, mostly by women, that I love and you might too:

Strangers from Lea Thau, a Dane based in LA.
Each episode is an empathy shot in your arm, featuring true stories about about the people we meet, the connections we make, the heartbreaks we suffer, the kindnesses we encounter, and those frightful moments when we discover that WE aren’t even who we thought we were.
This is a good place to start:
Elizabeth and Mary, a four part series from earlier this year.  Would you give a kidney to a stranger?

How to Be a Girl is an audio podcast about life with a transgender daughter. Marlo Mack is a single mom with an eight-year-old “girl with a penis”. Together they attempt to sort out just what it means to be a girl. Start at episode 1.

First Day Back is a documentary podcast that follows Canadian filmmaker Tally Abecassis as she faces the challenges of picking up her career after an extended maternity leave.  The narrative takes a real-life look at motherhood, gender roles, and work-life balance in a voice by turns serious, funny, and sometimes touching. Start at episode 1.

Millennial is a podcast hosted by Megan Tan about what people never teach you – how to manoeuvre your 20s.  Start at episode 1.

The Intern. The self-produced story of a young woman navigating New York City and a new career in tech and media, by Allison Behringer.  Start at episode 1.

StartUp is a podcast series about what it’s really like to get a business off the ground. In Season 1, Alex Blumberg told the story of launching this business, Gimlet Media, a podcast network.  Start at episode 1.

Let me know what you think!
